Who Can We Help?
Acadia is committed to creating and maintaining a learning environment open to all. We work to help students with disabilities to reach their academic potential and integrate into the greater university community. Students with disabilities meet the same admission standards as all other students.
Prior to the beginning of their first term, students with physical or learning disabilities are encouraged to identify any requirements to:
Jill Davies, Counsellor/Disability Access
Kathy O'Rourke, Disability Resource Facilitatoror
Mathew Guy, Residence Life Assignments Coordinator
Prospective students often visit the campus prior to their arrival; please arrange to meet Jill or Matthew while you are here to discuss your needs and the services available.
Students who require specific individual accommodation to successfully complete their academic work (e.g. extended periods of time for examinations) will be required to provide Jill Davies at the Student Resource Centre with recent medical documentation or a psycho-educational assessment verifying a permanent disability.
